Food & Drink
As you would expect in France, there are plenty of dining options around La Roseraie - from the frugal and family-friendly to the lavish, more formal gastronomic options.
Choose to dine at La Roseraie (advanced booking is essential) and you’re in for a treat. Rosalind uses fresh seasonal produce (much of it is grown in La Roseraie’s garden) to create a wonderful table d’hote menu, and you sit down with your hosts to enjoy an authentic French experience.
Guests staying in the gite have the option of a barbecue in your private patio area: the potbellied barbecue is wonderfully efficient, so you can be as adventurous as you wish with what you choose to barbecue.
….and of course, all guests are welcome to picnic in La Roseraie’s three acre garden.
If you want a restaurant meal, Le Delice des Mets in Saint-George-sur Cher is within easy walking distance. Just across the river there are two opportunities to sample Michelin accredited food. L'Auberge du Cheval Rouge in Chisseaux has a Michelin Bib Gourmand and if you really want to push the boat out, the Auberge du Bon Laboureur in Chenonceaux has one Michelin Star.
Montrichard, approximately a 10 minute drive, has a choice of eateries including Les Tuffeaux, le Nanteuila - a very popular restaurant with locals where all dishes are home made. Le Procopio; situated in an ancient converted chapel, reputed to be the oldest building in Montrichard; serves excellent grills and pizza.
