Live Music & Festivals
Lovers of live music are in for a real treat them at La Roseraie de Vrigny: Live classical music is a feature of the Loire Valley - there are music festivals at Pontlevoy, Tours, Amboise and at La Grange de Meslay - a vast monastic tithe barn near Tours.
There are organ recitals on the famous organ at the beautiful church of St. Denis in Amboise, chamber music recitals at the ornate Hotel de VCille in Tours, and you may be lucky enough to catch a concert by a team of Trompes de Chasse, the valveless hunting horns curled over the shoulder of the players, which are much appreciated in this region.
If live jazz music is more your taste, plan your visit to coincide with the jazz festival at the Chateau de Couldraies, just a few kilometres away from La Roseraie de Vrigny. If you like music that is a little different, catch one of the Festivals de Trompe de Chasse, the ancient valveless hunting horns much appreciated in Touraine.
There are also frequent art exhibitions locally both in the cinema at Montrichard and in a converted mediaeval chapel in Noyers sur Cher
