    Le Chateau d’Ussé

Created by Le Nôtre, “The King’s Gardener”, who was also responsible for the world famous gardens at the Palace of Versailles, the remarkable formal French gardens at Ussé are unforgettable.

Le Nôtre turned the rules of horticulture upside down and played with symmetry, geometrical shapes and perspective. To set the gardens off to perfection he installed ornamental lakes and fountains.

    Chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire

Every year the gardens of chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire play host to the annual ‘Festival des Jardins’, a garden festival with up to 30 themed gardens. These gardens are created by different landscape architects, designers and artists around a theme, which changes every year. This brings the chateau surroundings to life with the colour and fragrances of the many plants and flowers on display. Due to its continued quality and success the garden festival has gained an international reputation with visitors coming from every corner of the globe.

    Chateau de Cheverny

The Chateau de Cheverny offers visitors the chance to discover four themed gardens.

The vegetable garden offers an array of colours, textures and tastes across its wide range of flowers and vegetables.

The Apprentices Garden is an ornamental garden in an area once occupied by a formal French garden and boasts a splendid view over the park.

The Tulip Garden has over 100,000 bulbs while the bay tree maze enables visitors to have fun finding and hiding from friends.

    Garden Prébendes of Oé, Tours

Often called the "English garden", the garden of Prébendes actually fits in the French landscape style of the nineteenth century. Its many paths allow you to discover stunning perspectives of a garden given “Remarkable garden status” from the Ministry of Culture.

    Jardin Botanique, Tours

The botanical garden consists of different parts: An “English” arboretum also includes a zoo and a petting zoo. An avenue is lined with regular beds where magnolias offer shade. The theme garden has ericaceous plants, peat-bogs, alpine and a Mediterranean garden. The collection of greenhouses has three main themes: tropical utility plants, flora of South Africa and sub-tropical timber.
