VISITING “OUT OF SEASON”
Don't just visit The Loire Valley in the summer: La Roseraie de Vrigny is open all year round and travelling “out of season” has many advantages.
The climate in Touraine is generally mild and temperate – not too hot in summer and seldom really cold in winter, with snow a rarity. The Loire Valley always seems to escape the extremes of weather, and it is quite usual for La Roseraie to have roses still in bloom in November.
Many tourist sites are open in autumn and winter and are far less crowded. The chateaux of Chambord, Chenonceaux, and Blois for example are open all year round and the autumn colours in the many forests of the Loire Valley are absolutely superb.
